Notifications
Church defaults, then your own row. You may turn yourself down, never up — SMS and email spend the church's allowance.
Settings → Notifications is reachable by any signed-in user, same reasoning as Security. The church sets defaults. A user may reduce their own email and SMS, not increase them.

Set church defaults if you can
Admins set the matrix of type × channel. Task assignment and follow-up assignment are the kinds of event that notify.

Turn your own down if you need to
Your row can opt out of channels. You cannot opt yourself into SMS for everything — that would drain the church's credit.
