Workflows — when they fire
A trigger, conditions, then actions. Preview is side-effect free. Empty workflows cannot switch on.
Workflows → All Workflows watches for a trigger (status changed, tagged, attended, and so on), checks its conditions, then runs actions. Sequences are timed campaigns with no entry trigger of their own — a workflow enrols someone with “Enrol in a communication sequence.” One-shot texts stay on Workflows; multi-step copy stays on Sequences.

Create from a template or blank
Open Create Workflow or Templates. Add at least one trigger (multiple triggers are OR), conditions (ALL or ANY), and at least one action. Switch on is disabled while the workflow is empty — that is a safety rule, not a broken button.

Preview before you switch on
Preview who would match. Preview does not send. Then switch on.

Archive rather than delete
Archived holds workflows you are not running. Restore from there. History stays readable on Activity.
